Monday we are back at school, but it is only 3 busy weeks until the Winter Holiday.
Have a wonderful week!
Positivity Project (P2): Kindness
This week in the Positivity Project, student will be learning about Kindness.
What It Means
You are generous to others and you are never too busy to help out. You enjoy doing good deeds for other people.
Why It Matters
For individuals, kindness is correlated with desirable developmental outcomes. It is related to other-oriented emotions, like empathy (the ability to experience the emotional state of another person) and sympathy (the tender emotion of concern for another’s difficulty).
On a group level, kindness is very important. In addition to empathy and sympathy, the character strength of kindness is indicative of an individual’s moral reasoning capacity and level of social responsibility. That means people who develop kindness possess a strong personal ethical responsibility to care for other people. And, their acts of kindness towards others lead to additional acts of kindness by those who have been helped.
Tuesday: Giving Tuesday
Ms. Sutton recently created a project on DonorsChoose for our Spring Reading night.
The “Music is Lit” project is to purchase the books that families will be able to take home after our Spring Reading Night.
Donate on Tuesday and at least 50% of your donation will be matched! For more information, see

Friday: Helping Hispanic Families Succeed; Spirit Day
Friday at 9:30 is our Helping Hispanic Families Succeed meeting led by our amazing Mrs. Morales.
Also Friday is Spirit Day. Wear your purple and white and show your Swift Creek spirit!
About the Winter Glow Dance: Dec 19
As we push through the month of December, the school PBIS Team would like to offer students an extra initiative to maintain ROAR expectations and focus on learning!
Starting on Monday, December 2nd, use the blue Winter Glow Dance coupons to reward students for ROAR behavior. When students have earned 13 blue coupons, they have earned their way to the Winter Glow Dance!
So if your Swifty comes home talking about these coupongs, now you know what they are working towards!
