Positivity Project: Love
This week in the Positivity Project, students will be learning about Love
What it Means?
You value close relationships with others and being close to people.
Why It Matters?
Love is imperative to an individual's happiness and fulfillment in life. On a group level, love is vital for the well being of society. The world is endlessly interconnected. Love allows us to open up to another person and be vulnerable. That openness gives us the ability to learn and grow.
Feb 11-15: Bus Driver Appreciation Week
Many times, our bus drivers and all their hard work is forgotten. But they are the key to getting our students to and from school each and every day.
Please take a moment this week to thank your child's bus driver for all they do!

It is another Early Release Day. School will end at 1:15. Be sure your child and your child's teacher knows how he or she is getting home today!
Have You Turned in Your Yearbook Form?
Now is the time to turn in your yearbook order forms. You can also sponsor a page in the yearbook. And 5th grade parents, remember those 5th grade dedications!
And we still need YOUR pictures for the yearbook. We can't be everywhere but our yearbook needs to represent EVERYONE at the Creek. If you have pictures, you can email them to [email protected] or you can upload them to our yearbook site. For more information, see http://swiftcreekeswcpssnetptahtml.weebly.com/yearbook.html
For more information, contact Kristy Pickurel at [email protected] or reply to this email.
More Opportunities to see Resilience: The Biology of Stress and Science of Hope
Thank you to all the parents and staff who came to the showing of Resilience last Thursday. Everyone who attended said they wish everyone could see this film.
Many children have Adverse Childhood Experiences that have caused them stress. These children need our support. Aren't sure what an Adverse Childhood Experience is? Take a look at this questionnaire from Public Schools First of NC.
For more information about Resilience and ACEs, see the Public Schools First of NC website.
Resilience will be shown again at WCPSS Crossroads II, 110 Corning Dr, Cary NC at 7pm:

Join the Swift Creek Team at the Garden Gallop on March 16
The Interfaith Food Shuttle (who is helping us with our school garden) invites us to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle's annual Garden Gallop 5K! This is the only fundraiser we host to fund our Urban Agriculture Education program here at the Food Shuttle, and we would love to see our school partners (Swift Creek is one of these partners and directly benefits from this program) join us on this day. This is why we are sharing this promo code for discounted entry to the Garden Gallop 5K. Partner school families can use the code before for 25% off cost of entry. Please help us spread the word for this event, but please do not share the promo code outside of your school network.
