I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing holiday with your families. I know at our house it is sure going to be hard to get up tomorrow morning. :-)
I hope you and your kids have a great week back! If you need anything, please reach out and let us know.

Positivity Project (P2): Knowing my Actions and Words Affect Others
This week, the students focus on another aspect of the #OtherPeopleMindset -- "Knowing my Actions and Word Affect Others".
I think this quote from Rachel W sums up the week's lessons perfectly.
"Be mindful with words. A string of some that don't mean much to you may stick with someone for a lifetime."
I hope all the words you hear this week brighten your week!
Monday: Back to School

Giving Tuesday: Help Mrs. McIntyre Get Mirrors for the Art Room
We've had Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday, and now for Giving Tuesday, how about helping one of our own Swifties?
Mrs. McIntyre has created a Donors Choose project to get mirrors for self-portraits. Can you help her reach her $500 goal to purchase these items.

Friday: Box Top Collection Day!
Turn in all your Box Tops and Coke bottle tops by Friday morning. The Box Top fairy will be making her rounds in the afternoon and determining which class is this month's Super Snippers!
What is the Winter Glow Party? A PBIS Incentive
The PBIS committee emphasizes academic and student success by reinforcing positive student behavior. The Winter Glow party is an incentive program to help students stay focused as we approach winter break.
Students will start earning glow coupons this week! They must earn 18 coupons in order to attend the glow dance. Once they earn enough coupons, they will get to sign in for the dance in their classrooms.
At the glow dance, we will have a DJ for dancing (Thank you DJ Burkhalter!), glow sticks, the ability to make holiday/winter cards for troops overseas, and write on the graffiti wall with highlighters. Students will attend by grade level for about 30 minutes. It is such a fun time! Ask your children how close they are to earning enough coupons!

"PTA" means different things to different people. Here is what it means to me. PTA is parents, teachers, and community working together to make our students successful -- both academically and socially.
Many people think that if they don't join the PTA that they cannot attend PTA meetings or events. That isn't true. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend these events. Joining the PTA means that you have the ability to vote on things, such as budget changes and officers elections, and PTA membership numbers help us communicate the importance of an issue to the county, state, and national legislatures.
When I say PTA, I am including ALL our awesome parents and teachers and community. Everyone does so much to help our students achieve. Everyone's role is crucial and so appreciated.
So if in the past, you've been intimated by the word "PTA," please know that at the Creek all are welcome and encouraged to be part of our amazing community.
