We hope you've had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your family. Hope you got lots of rest! The next three weeks (until Winter Break) are going to be busy at the Creek.
- This week is the Book Fair! All profits from the Book Fair benefit our school library!
- Thursday night is Family Night at the Book Fair and a very important Literacy Night. Our staff have been working very hard on activities that will help you support your child's literacy at home. We hope everyone can come out and participate.
- Starting Monday, students will begin earning coupons for the Winter Glow Dance on Dec 16. Be sure to check out Mrs. Chadwick's (our school counselor) letter below.
- AND with this season of giving, we have many, many, MANY opportunities for you to give back to our Swift Creek community. We appreciate your support.

Book Fair is This Week!
Here is the link for our fair home page: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/swiftcreekelementaryfall22
At the fair, we will also have boxes of books from which each child will be able to select FREE book. These books are from previous book fairs or were purchased with Scholastic or PTA funds for this specific purpose.
Below is the schedule for the week. If you are new to book fairs, here is a brief explanation of what happens on preview and shopping days.
- On Preview Days, each class will visit the book fair and see the wide selection of books that we have to offer. Students will pick out a few of their favorites and create a wish list. These wish lists will be sent home so parents can decide which (if any) books they'd like their child to purchase during a shopping day.
- On Shopping Days, students will again visit the book fair. On this day, every student will receive a free book from a set of preselected items. (These are not items being sold at the current book fair.) Students with money will also be able to purchase books at this time.
- On Family Night, your entire family is welcome to come shop the fair!
Family Night is BACK! Thursday, Dec 1
This year we are once again able to welcome parents/families/caregivers to come shop the fair in person on Family Night! We have been unable to host a Family Night since the fall of 2019 and are thrilled to welcome everyone back to the fair! Family Night will be held on Thursday, December 1 and will coincide with Literacy Night at Swift Creek. All purchases through the Book Fair benefit our school!
Set Up an e-Wallet for Your Child
Students are encouraged to set up an e-wallet to shop the fair.
If you have already set up an e-wallet, simply log into your scholastic account and activate if for the Fall Fair.
If you have not yet set up an e-wallet:
- Go to our fair's home page on the Scholastic website: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/swiftcreekelementaryfall22
- Scroll to the middle of the page and click Get Started in the eWallet box.
- Click Create eWallet.
- Create a Scholastic account, if you don't have one already. Follow the remaining steps to create your eWallet.
- Share the eWallet link with family and friends if they wish to contribute funds for student purchases.
When your child checks out at the fair, the cashier will select the eWallet from the register and use it for your purchase.
NOTE: After the book fair is over, any leftover funds will remain on your eWallet account. Scholastic does NOT return unused funds. You can use these funds to purchase items online or at a future Scholastic book fair.
Many teachers/staff have set up e-wallets. Please reach out to the teacher for their e-wallet information if you would like to donate funds for them to shop the fair. Teachers will also have wish lists available at Family NIght. If you need assistance to provide funds or make purchases for staff, please reach out to Book Fair Chair, Kristen Sherman, via email at [email protected] .

This Week at the Creek
Congratulations to our IA of the year, Mrs. Hindi, who just happens to be Mrs. King's IA. But as you know, IAs are everywhere in the building, and Mrs. Hindi is no exception. You can find her doing a multitude of tasks throughout the day and she is always wearing a smile.
Congratulations to you both! You definitely represent Swift Creek very well!
