Welcome Back! SCES is "Built for a Bright Future!"
August 25, 2017
Dear Swift Creek Families,
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I hope you all have had a wonderful summer. We enjoyed meeting and reconnecting with many of you at Meet the Teacher night this week. If you are returning to Swift Creek, thank you for allowing us the privilege to work with your children again. To those who are new to Swift Creek, our goal is to make this the best educational experience your child has ever had.
This year, there are many exciting changes to look forward to at our school, with new staff members, new technology, and new activities to enrich our students’ educational experience. Swift Creek teachers are focused on instructing every student at the appropriate level and challenging them to stretch their thinking through engaging learning. Differentiation and dynamic learning experiences are the keys to the growth and achievement of Swift Creek students.
Throughout the year, Swift Creek Elementary will be celebrating our 85th anniversary. The theme for the celebration is "Built for a Bright Future," highlighting our rich heritage and our exciting road ahead. On October 7th, we encourage the entire Swift Creek community, past and present, to join us for an amazing day of festivities and fun in the park.
I also want to invite you to become involved in school activities and with our PTA. We will kick off the WatchDOGS program next month to encourage dads to volunteer time in school. Throughout the year, Swift Creek will be hosting several events which require everyone’s participation for success. You can find your place to serve at Swift Creek. Finally, starting this fall, the district will engage all stakeholders in the school in a visioning process for the future renovation of Swift Creek.
If you have any questions, please call our school office. Let’s have an excellent school year!
Sincerely,
Darrell Propst, Principal
