Sign up at www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0d45abad2ca6f94-early6 Due to the threat of icy roads, Wake County is operating on a 2 hour delay today. That means, that school will start at 11:15 for Swift Creek.

See https://www.wcpss.net/Page/33754 Hello everyone,
Hooray for a full week of school! And it was a great week. Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's Science Fair. It was one of our largest yet! Thanks to Jen and Chris Miller for organizing this event and STEM night in Nov. Both were very well received. We appreciate your commitment to bringing science to our students. A "slow" week ahead. Remember to stay up to date by following us on FaceBook at https://www.facebook.com/swiftcreekespta/. Have a great week! Marie Dexter, PTA President Here's what is happening this week at the Creek: The Positivity Project: PrudenceThis week, the kids will be learning about the character strength of Prudence. What it Means: You plan for the future and achieve your goals by making careful everyday choices. Prudence is the ability to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason. It's a future-oriented way of thinking that helps a person set goals, make plans, and have the discipline to accomplish them. It is cognitive – more a strength of the head than of the heart. Why it Matters On a group level, prudence is crucial – especially today, as shortsightedness has crept into many parts of life. Prudent individuals will produce a prudent society. And, as always, we need leaders who can think long-term and create the world we want our descendants to inherit. Things to Turn In This Week: Many flyers went home in Tuesday folders last week. Please remember to turn those items in as soon as possible.
Forms for these events are available on the PTA website. http://swiftcreekeswcpssnetptahtml.weebly.com/ Wednesday: Turn in Your Box Tops & First Basketball Game of the Season It is the end of the month, and that means the Box Top Fairy will be visiting the classrooms. Please make sure to turn in your Box Tops and Coke bottle caps to your child's teacher. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents and each Coke bottle cap is worth 5 cents for our school! (Please check the expiration date on your Box Tops. If it is expired, we can't use it. That's why it is so important to turn in your Box Tops promptly!) At 5:00pm in the gym, come cheer on our 5th grade basketball team as they play their first game of the season. They will be challenging Creech Road on our home court! Friday: Spirit Day! Are you Interesting in Helping to Create an International Night? Show your school spirit by wearing your purple on Friday! Which class will be our winners for February?
