Hello everyone, Can you believe it? It is here! The last few days of the 2020-21 school year. The last week of school always brings mixed emotions but this year more than ever. Mr. Propst said it so well in his message, "It has been a peculiar year." And yet we have persevered and the end is in sight. The PTA would like to Thank all of the Swift Creek staff for their efforts and unwavering dedication to our students in this chaotic year. Your are amazing! We hope this summer is full of rest and recharge for you and your families! We are so excited about the return of a "normalish" year next year. So many families have joined our community and we haven't even met you face-to-face yet. Next year, part of the PTA's goal is building and rebuilding connections. To start this effort, this summer we are offering Playdates on the Playground. Families are welcome to bring their kiddos for playtime and popiscles and maybe ... just maybe a Swifty visit. We will meet at the Swift Creek playground. Sign up at Playdates on the Playground. Don't worry. We will send reminders during the summer. Stay in the loop with Creek events over the summer through the PTA website and our FaceBook page. If you know someone with an incoming kindergartener, invite them to join our Incoming Kindergartener FaceBook group. Also, there will be occasional PTA newsletters. These emails are sent to PTA members or other families who have opted in to these emails. If you know someone who is new to the school or who has been at the school and might like to receive these emails, tell them to email Marie at [email protected] and she will add you to the list. We hope everyone has a joyful, fun filled summer! If you need anything, please reach out to any PTA board member during any time. Marie, Deborah, Sarah, Dana, Lauren HIGHLIGHTS FOR THIS WEEK

I wanted to let you know that this will be my last year at SCES, as I have accepted a position with the National Association for Music Education. I plan on telling students this week during their music classes. Let me be the first to say that it has been an honor to work with your children. They have filled my heart with joy, laughter, and love over the past couple of years. They have challenged me to grow as an educator and a human being. I treasure the time that I get to spend with them. Thank you for raising awesome world changing children. Lastly, one silver lining of this transition is that I’ll still be in Raleigh; so maybe I’ll see you in the grocery store or out and about. As our school song says: “Because we’re more than a building. More than a school. Swift Creek will always be in our hearts.” With much love, Ms. Sutton SCES Music Teacher Food DonationsAre you looking for ways to help?
