This week is Administrative Assistant Appreciation Week! This week we celebrate all the work that Mrs. Morales (our front desk receptionist), Ms. Lennon (our data manager), and Mrs. Silva (the lead secretary) do for our families and staff. Their jobs require them to juggle several things at once -- ringing phones, students needing assistance, staff members with questions. If you have a moment, please thank these ladies for all their hard work throughout the school year.
On Tuesday, we will have our April PTA meeting. This meeting will be virtual. We plan to have our May 17 and June 7 meetings in person! More information will be provided in the next newsletter.
Also new this week ... check out the daily activities scheduled for Teacher Appreciation Week, which starts May 2. Also, there is information about a food drive hosted by the Swift Creek Service Club. There's a fun surprise with this food drive. Check out the article below!
We hope you have a terrific week. If you have any questions, please know.

We will be decorating the sidewalk with sidewalk chalk. We will also be creating posters to hang around the school grounds. If you cannot attend the May 1 event but want to contribute, you are welcome to create posters at your home and then Marie will come pick up!

Last Chance to be a host Family at International Night
We are still accepting host families! If you are interested, please complete this Google form.
Also check out your child's Tuesday folder this week. It should contain a flyer with more details about International Night along with an activity that we are asking all students to complete. We look forward to hanging our student drawings up in the front hallway and on the field during International Night.
We are also looking to borrow folding tables for the event. Or maybe you can help volunteer? We need you too! Sign up now!
Our World is #BetterTogether!
Food Drive: Collecting Cereal BOXes for the Food Bank
The Swift Creek Service Club is collecting unopened cereal boxes to donate to the Food Bank.
Here’s how you can help!
Between May 3 - 19, donate standard size, unopened cereal boxes and turn them in to your child’s teacher or the front office. Be sure to label your donation with your teacher’s name because we will be having a competition to see which class collects the most cereal boxes. (Remember we want full boxes of cereal, not empty boxes.)
Then on May 20, at our school pep rally (to kick off end-of-year testing), we will celebrate our achievement by standing up the cereal boxes around the track like dominos. The teacher whose class collects the most cereal boxes will get to start our dominos falling as the entire school watches!
The more cereal boxes we collect, the bigger our domino display, the more families we can feed!
If you have any questions, please contact Service Club leader Mrs. Chadwick at [email protected]. If you are interested in helping on May 20 to set up the boxes, please contact Marie Dexter at [email protected].
Due May 6: Survey from Wake County Public Schools
Wake County Public Schools is administering a District Wide Family Survey from Monday, April 4 through Friday, May 6. This survey provides families the opportunity to provide valuable information and a high-quality data source for planning and School Improvement.
The survey has been translated into various languages; Spanish, Arabic, French, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese in an effort to provide accessibility to families in Wake County Public Schools. The survey administration language can be chosen by families before taking the survey.
The link to access the survey is http://surveys.panoramaed.com/wakecounty/family. Thank you for taking time to complete the survey and helping us continue to improve Swift Creek.
Yours,
Darrell Propst, Principal
