It is Dress Like a Movie Star day at the Creek. You should have seen all the famous staff members we have.
TOMORROW: Turn in your Box Tops and any Coke bottle tops that you have been collecting.
The Box Top fairy will be making her rounds to the classrooms on Friday. She will be collecting to see which class wins the "Super Snippers" of the month award. So turn in your Box Tops tomorrow!
Note: The first submission deadline for Box Tops is Nov 1. That means, I have to have all Box Tops counted and ready for mailing by Nov 1. If you are holding on to any Box Tops, please turn them in. This is a great way for Swift Creek to earn additional money!
The Cougar Fun Run is only 2 weeks away and we need volunteers for the event. Sign up today!
Here is the day's schedule:
9:25-10:10 1st Grade
10:10-10:55 5th Grade
10:55-11:40 4th Grade
12:40-1:25 3rd Grade
2:10-2:55 2nd Grade
We need parents to help with the individual classes, parents for setup and cleanup, and parents for the snack table. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated! And you know you'll be there anyway cheering on your favorite Swifties!
I know you are anxious to hear more about the search for a new principal.
First, let me say that Mrs. Hargrove's contract has been extended until the end of October, so at least we get to have her with us for another month.
Second, I called Dr. Robinson's (the superintendent's) office this morning to see where we are. So as you might remember on Tuesday, Sept 13, 3 parents, 3 teachers, and 3 students participated in a panel interview of 6 candidates. We nominated 3 candidates to move forward through the grueling second round of interviews with Dr. Robinson, etc. Those interviews were conducted on Friday, Sept 16 (I believe).
Last week, I suspect there was alot of discussion, checking of backgrounds and references. Before any announcement about a principal can be made, the School Board must approve the candidate. The next school board meeting is Tuesday, Oct 4. So we won't hear anything before next Tuesday at the earliest.
That is where we stand today. If you have any questions, please let me know. Also please feel free to share this message with others and send them my email (email@example.com) if they have follow up questions.
Have a good Monday!
