School buses will provide transportation home for students who ride by bus and parents will be able to pick up their children for rides home as they usually do. School staff will stay with students at schools until arrangements have been made for each child to get home safely.
This information has been shared with local media, and posted on district and school websites.
All Wake County Public School System schools will close 3 hours early Wednesday, Feb. 24, due to inclement weather. Athletic and extracurricular events are also canceled.
In January, Ms. Herrin, Ms. Smith, and Ms Windsor created a Swift Creek Basketball Club. On Thursday afternoons, these teachers lead students in basketball drills and teach basketball skills. This club is for 4th and 5th graders. The response was so overwhelming that the club's 25 spots quickly filled up.
Who can believe these teachers even have the energy at the end of the day? Thanks to you for bringing this opportunity to our students at Swift Creek. We hope everyone is having fun!
Due to the threat of inclement weather, Wake County Schools are closed today, Monday Feb 15. (Apparently, Mother Nature really doesn't want us to go to school today. Remember this was supposed to be a make-up day for the January snow.)
The make-up day for today is Monday, April 25. Hopefully, there is no potential for snow in April.
