HIGHLIGHTS THIS WEEK
- It is National School Counselor week and we will be celebrating our amazing school counselor, Mrs. Chadwick! Coincidentally, the theme for National School Counselor week is Better Together, which is our school theme for this year. Let's thank Mrs. Chadwick for all she does for us by sending in notes, flowers, treats, or whatever you can think of!
- It is also National Bus Driver Appreciation week! This year has shown us just how vital our bus drivers are! Please take a moment to thank your bus driver for what he or she does to transport our kids safely. We couldn't function without them.
- Tuesday, Feb 8 6:30pm -- Virtual PTA meeting. The agenda and connection information is in the article below.

weekly Wellness: Join our school team for Kids Heart challenge -- Deadline to donate is Feb 18
We’ve given our students the chance to feel good by doing good with the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge (KHC) before – now it’s time to do it again! Together, we can help kids learn how to move more, eat better, practice kindness and gain strength with the great lessons KHC offers. And, at the same time, we’ll raise money to help people with special hearts.
Here are our goals:
- Raise $5000!
- Have 100 students register and participate.
Will you join our school team this year? KHC kicks off soon, so now is the time to register online:
Here’s all you need to do:
- Visit our school home page: Swift Creek Elementary School.

Decorate the School Grounds for Teacher Appreciation Week
We'd love to decorate the school grounds, so on Monday morning, the teachers know how much we love them!
We will be decorating the sidewalk with sidewalk chalk. We will also be creating posters to hang around the school grounds. If you cannot attend the May 1 event but want to contribute, you are welcome to create posters at your home and then Marie will come pick up!
We are excited about celebrating our amazing teachers!

MAGNET SCHOOL DEADLINE TODAY!!!!
Students rising into 6th and rising 9th-grade who are siblings of magnet students who are rising into grades 7-8 or grades 10-12 have already been assigned to the magnet school of the older sibling. Parents may email [email protected] for confirmation of the sibling's assignment.
Applicants may apply to any magnet school that is an option for their address although applying to the pathway school for the current school provides the highest priority to be selected (wcpss.net/priorities). Students with magnet status who apply to the pathway middle or high school for the current school/program (wcpss.net/pathways), will be selected for that school. Students with magnet status may also apply to other magnet schools and list them as higher choices than the pathway school. If the applicant is not selected for the other magnets, the applicant will be put in the applicant pool for your first choice school and will still be selected for the pathway magnet school.
