This week, students begin learning about the first of the 24 character strengths in the Positivity Project. The first strength students will discuss is Curiosity.

You like exploration and discovery. You ask lots of questions because you want to learn more about anything and everything.
Why Does Curiosity Matter?
Curiosity is a form of courage. Asking questions exposes the fact that we don’t know and trying a new activity means we might
fail. But, it’s only through asking questions and exploring new opportunities that we learn and grow.
Curiosity is crucial in making discoveries that bring important benefits. For example, exotic plants may yield new medicines and ancient artifacts may illuminate astonishing pieces of human history.
You can support our staff at home by asking your kids what they've learned. Here are some suggestions. Think or discuss curious characters in literature, such as Curious George or Goldilocks. Or discuss occupations where you must be curious, such as a scientist.
