We hope everyone had a restful Spring Break, and are ready to finish the school year strong. It is hard to believe that we have 8 weeks of school left in this school year! Those days are going to be busy, busy and full of fun.
We look forward to the return of our big school community event, International Night on May 12! We look forward to sharing each other's cultures, music, food, and fun! We still need host families, so if you are interested, sign up in the article below or use the form that will be sent home in this week's Tuesday folders.
We hope you have a wonderful week! Stay dry on Monday!

Reminder: Due May 6: Complete the Survey
Wake County Public Schools is administering a District Wide Family Survey from Monday, April 4 through Friday, May 6. This survey provides families the opportunity to provide valuable information and a high-quality data source for planning and School Improvement.
The survey has been translated into various languages; Spanish, Arabic, French, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese in an effort to provide accessibility to families in Wake County Public Schools. The survey administration language can be chosen by families before taking the survey.
The link to access the survey is http://surveys.panoramaed.com/wakecounty/family. Thank you for taking time to complete the survey and helping us continue to improve Swift Creek.
Yours,
Darrell Propst, Principal

Sign Up to be a Host Family by FridaY, April 29
To make this night a success, we need host families to create displays for the event. While this might sound daunting, I promise it doesn't have to be.
Around the field we will have a table and tent for each country (or family if there are multiple families for the same country).
In each display, we encourage families to teach us about the unique traditions, holidays, geography, languages, and culture of your country. Displays can be posters with pictures, or tri-fold boards. Items to display in your exhibit could be toys, books, money, music, whatever you can think of!
When students arrive, they will receive a passport and be asked to visit each country/activity during International Night. Students who get stamps from each country will receive a special International Night prize bag.
This is always a very exciting night and the more host families that we have the better. Thank you for considering to help!
If you can be a host family, please complete this Google form.

We Need You on May 1: KickOff to Teacher Appreciation Week
We will be decorating the sidewalk with sidewalk chalk. We will also be creating posters to hang around the school grounds. If you cannot attend the May 1 event but want to contribute, you are welcome to create posters at your home and then Marie will come pick up!
We are excited about celebrating our amazing teachers!

Share Your stories for our 90th anniversary!
We encourage EVERYONE former students and staff, community members, current students and staff to share a story about Swift Creek.
We ask you to share this request with others as well. We want to capture as many stories as possible. The memories will be collected into a book that we hope to put in the school library and possibly have on sale at our 90th anniversary party on Saturday, Sept 24. Believe me after you hear Mrs. O'Donnell's story, you'll want a copy. (For example, did you know Swift Creek once had a band? Or that the previous school colors of blue and gold were chosen because of the color of the curtains in the gym?)
Here is how you can help:
- Submit a story or memory at https://tinyurl.com/sces90
- Share this link with your Swift Creek friends, family, community members, every where! If someone has memorabilia, yearbooks, pictures, school spirit wear, etc that we can display at the anniversary party, ask them to contact Marie Dexter at [email protected] or 919-602-9993.
- Tell folks to save Sept 24 so they can attend our 90th anniversary party!
We truly are #BetterTogether!
