1. I asked about the replacement staff for next year. How many positions were still left open?
The majority of these positions have been filled. Ms. Bradshaw and Mrs. Miller have been interviewing throughout the spring to replace any staff who left (as needed based on the changes to our enrollment size for next year). The only outstanding positions are for intervention teachers, but those should be filled before beginning of school in August.
2. I wanted to know who was putting together the class lists for next year. I was concerned that a new interim principal wouldn't know our kids like Ms. Bradshaw and the staff at the Creek.
Ms. Bradshaw and Mrs. Miller are working on these class lists now. However, letters won't be sent home until August.
3. An interim principal should be selected by the county early next week. Ms. Bradshaw will send a voice mail as soon as this person is named. I have already requested to meet with the interim principal when she starts, so I hope to have an update for you about her in early July.
I also learned that interim principals are contract positions that tend to last for 2 - 3 months. This gives the county time to search for a new principal. As I stated before, there will be input meetings for staff and parents concerning the new principal. These meetings are facilitated by the county, and as soon as I hear dates, I will let you know.
I hope this update answers some of your questions. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask me. As I said, if I don't know, I will find out. Of course, you are always welcome to contact the school as well. :-)
