Next week, we will no have school on Monday in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr holiday. This morning, we shared a quote of Dr King's on the Morning Roar which goes with the theme of this year's observance, "The Beloved Community." Dr. King said, "Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love." I am thankful for this community at Swift Creek which does everything in their power to create a beloved community.
On Tuesday night, we are excited to see the science and engineering talents of many of our students at the Science Fair. Also that night, our wonderful PTA will be facilitating fun STEAM activities for the whole family. Hope to see you at 5:30 on January 17.
You've probably heard by now, but I want to mention again that our move to the temporary space will not occur at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year. I will let you all know as soon as I have a date of the temporary move to the Timber Drive swing space. Please keep in mind, when the move does occur, all Swift Creek staff and students will move together. Transportation will still be available. There is nothing that you will need to do when the move takes place.
Now for some good news. Alexander Family YMCA is moving forward with plans to offer after school care at SCES. Details and a start date should be coming out very soon. We are so glad that this will be offered to our families.
Have a great holiday weekend.
Yours,
Darrell Propst, Principal
