Good afternoon. Last week, our district leadership sent a clear message to schools and the communities they serve - it is time to allow visitors in the schools. I cannot tell you how excited I am to welcome you, a vital component of SCES, back to our school!
Below are the procedures that go into effect next week:
- We will keep the sign in/sign out process the same (parents will scan the QR code, complete the form, and stay outside)
- If visitors are bringing something and dropping it off, registering for kindergarten, etc., the front desk receptionist will greet and unlock the door; please come directly into the office before proceeding anywhere else on campus
- We will begin conducting tours again for prospective students - get the word out!
- Parents can eat lunch at the big table in the cafeteria with just their student. Please limit the group to two outside guests, no balloons or parties, and maintain social distance from other groups at the table
- We will encourage students, classes, visitors to eat outside at the picnic tables as weather permits
- Sam Allen will be restarting our WatchDOGS program for dads and dad-figures to spend the day at SCES
As I was preparing this School Messenger this week, Gov. Cooper made the announcement regarding the lifting of mask mandates. We are awaiting resonse from the district school board and will follow their guidance when it is announced. Have a great holiday weekend.
Yours,
Darrell Propst, Principal
