Well, I said that the time would fly after Spring Break, but I had no idea it would speed by this fast. I can't keep track of what day it is anymore.
We're off to a full routine week at the Creek. Please note all the ways that you can help our PTA and our school community next month.
Also note that this week is Administrative Assistant Appreciation Week. We will be recognizing our entire front office staff (Mrs. Morales, Ms. Lennon, and Mrs. Silva) for all they do for our staff and students. They do a little bit of everything every single day, so I hope you can take a moment to send them an email or card of thank you. They would greatly appreciate it!
If you have any questions, please contact any board member.

The positivity Project: Purpose
Here are the three questions from this week:
- Have you ever volunteered before? If not, think about one way that you could volunteer in your school or community.
- What are some other ways that you can have purpose besides volunteering?
- Purpose can help you to achieve your goals. What is one goal that you have for yourself? It could be something that you want to accomplish now or in the future.
To access all the family resources:
- Go to https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/.
- Select your grade level.
- Enter P2 as the password.
- Select the character strength of the week.
We need YOU in the PTA
Also, if you or someone you love is interested in helping to be Swifty next year, the nominating committee wants to know that too!
If you have any questions or nominations, please contact a member of the Nominating Committee.

Weekly Wellness: "Snacktivities" & Get Kids INvolved in the Kitchen
“Preparing food as a family has many health benefits, especially for kids. When young people get involved in meal planning and cooking, they can develop math skills, explore their senses, practice creativity, and learn about nutrition and culture. And, they’re more likely to eat.” CLICK HERE for some fun trips to try with your family. Also, see below for some easy and delicious “Snacktivities.”

Notes from District 5 BAC meeting
Here are some highlights from this discussion:
- The budget request is for $2.1 Billion for 2023-24 school year.
- The priority areas for funding are: Employee compensation, Instructional support technicians, behavioral health supports, and maintenance and operations.
- Our federal funds are ending; however, we have plans to maintain and spend the money until 2025. We are in the process of transitioning federal funds to local funds so we can continue many of our programs.
BAC members also gave Lynn input on the superintendent search. It is likely that we will have an interim superintendent over the summer. They hope to have a new superintendent by Sept; at the latest by the end of 2024.
