We know that our students will be so excited this week. As Mr. Propst mentioned in his email, next week we will be spreading holiday cheer with a spirit week. We hope you can encourage your child to participate. Also, the week will end with the Winter Blast, which will be split over 2 days. During specials time, students will attend music & art or media & PE. The specialists have some FUN activities planned.
- In music, students will be participating in a glow dance.
- In art, students will be making their own shrinky dinks. (Instructions will be sent home with each student as to how you can bake your shrinky dink in the oven.)
- In PE, students will be playing Hockey Golf.
- In media, students will be making holiday cards for a community organization.
And that's just the start of the Thank Yous for this week. I hope you will check out the articles below to see all the ways that YOU are making a difference in our community.
We look forward to a fun, fun week!

THE POSITIVITY PROJECT: Self Control
WHAT IT MEANS
You have the ability to control your emotions and behaviors. You think before you act.
WHY IT MATTERS
For individuals, self-control helps them delay the short-term gain in pursuit of a greater, long-term success. This strength is associated with having an “internal locus of control;” of being in control of (and responsible for) your own personal choices – and the outcomes of those choices.
A group’s ability to demonstrate self-control often appear in the form of “self-monitoring.” This means that individuals demonstrate honesty with one another about successful group practices. When things are unsuccessful, group members have the ability to adjust roles in the interest of overall group success. It’s a crucial strength in our modern society and its mentality of impulsivity and consumption.
