IMPORTANT ADVOCACY UPDATE: Thoughts on Reopening Schools
Wake County Public Schools wants your thoughts about reopening schools this fall. They have provided several avenues for you to contribute your feedback.
Virtual Conversation Open through June 19
You can participate here: www.wcpss.net/thoughtexchange
You'll be asked to respond to one open-ended question, consider and assign stars to some of the ideas shared by others and learn what's important to the group.
Your thoughts and stars are confidential. You can come back as often as you'd like to participate and rate ideas. We’ll use these ratings along with results from last month’s Remote Learning survey to help us understand the most important areas to focus on as we work on plans for the new school year.
Participation will be open until June 19, 2020.
Virtual District Meeting
This week, there will also be several district meetings where you can voice your thoughts.
Join the meeting at bit.ly/WakeDistrictMeeting.
Monday, June 8
- 4pm: Districts 8 & 9
- 6pm: Districts 1 & 3
Tuesday, June 9
- 4pm: Districts 4 & 2
- 6pm: Districts 5, 6, 7 -- We are in district 5 . . . although this overlaps with the PTA meeting that starts at 6:30. You can attend any of these district meetings. You don't have to attend the district 5 meeting.

Order Your School Supplies for Next Year!
It is hard to think about next school year, but if you are interested in ordering your school supplies early, we have partnered with the SchoolKitz program again this year.
You can order your supplies online through June 19.

Swift Creek's account number: 38021
If you have questions about this program, contact Marie Dexter at [email protected].
We are looking for someone to chair this committee next year. The time commitment is fairly low. If you are interested, let me know and I will give you more details.
Do You Have Foil-Lined Pouches Or Squeezable Pouches to Recycle?
Megan Holler, our Recycling chair, has been working hard this year to promote recycling efforts in our community. When we were at school, the students had a special bin where to place foil-lined snack wrappers.
Now that we are home, Megan is still happy to collect these items. Just email her for more information at [email protected].
Or if you are stopping by the church on Friday for food donation drop off, Marie Dexter will pick them up from you then. Or bring them when you pick up your child's school belongings. We will have bins outside the front and back entrances.
