The Positivity Project: Outro Week
The PTA has already paid the program to return next year.
Did you know that The Positivity Project has family resources for the outro week as well? They are quick and easy to use. You'll find 1 quote, 1 video, and 3 questions to help you and your children discuss The Positivity Project's character strength of the week. The resources are organized by grade level: K-2 and 3-5, so be sure to check out both sets.
Here are the three questions from this week:
- What is one way that you show someone that you care?
- How has someone else shown kindness to you?
- How do kindness and supporting others when they struggle affect relationships?

WED, JUNE 7 9:30AM: 5TH GRADE CEREMONY
If you've never attended one of our 5th grade ceremonies, here are some details on what to expect.
Parking
Everyone should be aware that carpool will be extra busy that morning, since the ceremony starts at 9:30am. Families can park in front of the school and at the park. Please DO NOT park at the Swift Creek community center. You can also park at the Food Lion shopping center and walk over to the school.
Bring Your Own Chair
The ceremony will be in the park behind the school. 5th graders will have seats on the basketball court. We ask that you bring your own chair and sit in the grass in the field. You might also want to bring a water bottle with you, depending on the heat. The ceremony lasts about an hour.
After the Ceremony
After the event, don't leave right away. We'd like to get one last class picture.
Also, we will have refreshments (cupcakes or cake and water) for the students.
Want to Contribute to the Event?
Want to give a shout out to your 5th grader or maybe all the 5th graders? We are looking for posters and signs to hang along the fence on the tennis courts. Everyone is welcome to contribute. Please turn your posters in to the office by Tuesday, June 6.
Also if you have any baby pictures of your 5th grader, I'd love those too. Send them to Marie Dexter at [email protected].
