This week was another HUGE reminder of how special our Swift Creek community is.
First, thank you to everyone who participated in the Day of Gratitude on Wednesday. I heard several teachers say how much they appreciated the notes of encouragement and how much these gestures meant especially right now. If you didn't get a chance to participate, it is never too late. Have your child draw a picture, write a thank you note or email to your child's teacher. The smallest gesture means so much to our hard working staff.
Second, thank you to everyone who donated to this month's teacher cart run by Kristen Sherman, our Hospitality chair. See pictures in the Week in Pictures second.
And last but not least, THANK YOU to everyone who is donating pies for the Pie day organized by Kristen Sherman for this Tuesday. With this event, every staff member (including our bus drivers) will be taking home a store bought pie for their Thanksgiving dinners. Because we are including ALL the staff, we had a goal of obtaining 85 pies! By Tuesday, we had 20 pies donated. However (and here is the incredible part), after sending a reminder email, in 30 minutes, YOU had met and surpassed our goal. Everyone was so generous in wanting to help. In fact, we had to turn some of you away, but don't worry. There will be more opportunities to give during this challenging school year. Be sure to read the weekly newsletter or check the PTA FaceBook page for these opportunities.
Speaking of opportunities to donate, we are currently collecting supplies for the Winter Blast on Dec 16 & Dec 17. These supplies will be used by students during the two day event. If you are interested in donating, please sign up today using the Winter Blast Sign Up Genius.
A quick reminder that we have school only Monday and Tuesday this week. Students will be out for the Thanksgiving Break starting on Wednesday. We are grateful for everyone in our Swift Creek community. We hope you and your family have a relaxing, joyful Thanksgiving!

THE POSITIVITY PROJECT: GRATITUDE
Individuals with this strength are likely to think, feel, or behave in the following ways:
- It is important to be thankful for each day that we have.
- It is important to say “thank you” as often as possible.
- I am grateful for the people in my life and all the help they’ve given me.
- I wouldn’t be where I am without my family, friends, and teachers.
- Even difficult experiences provide a reason to be grateful. They allow us to learn and grow.
- Being grateful gives me strength and energy.

Way to Go, Mrs. Banks!
Mrs. Banks is our dedicated cafeteria manager. By herself, she prepares breakfast and lunches for our students every single school day. She works super long hours often starting before the crack of dawn and checking in on the weekend.
"I love my job, and I love the kids here." We are thankful every day for the love she brings to our school family.
