I hope you enjoyed your extra hour this morning. Usually, with these time changes, my family wakes up super early, but today, we all slept in to a reasonable time. We must be ready to hibernate for the winter.
Lots of excitement at the Creek this week. The big news is that the Book Fair returns this week. Because Wake County Schools changed Friday to a non-school day, this fair will be relatively short. The preview day for students and staff is Monday. Shopping days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Parents are not allowed to shop in person. Read the article below for information about how you can help your child shop or shop a teacher wish list. We appreciate your support! The book fair helps raise money for our school library.
We also will have a PTA meeting on Tuesday at 6:30pm. Connection information and the agenda is below.
A quick reminder that there is no school for students on Thursday (Veterans Day) and Friday (Day of Reflection). We thank all of our families who have served our country. Your dedication and devotion is inspiring.
Have a wonderful week! If you have any questions, please contact any PTA board member.

THE POSITIVITY PROJECT: Bravery
What It Means
You act with mental, moral, or physical strength even when you know things are difficult or scary.
Why It Matters
Overcoming fears is critically important in individual development, as it allows the person to do more and become more. A person can be brave every single day. For example, some people with social anxiety are brave just by leaving their house and talking with people. On a physical level, bravery allows us to overcome fears, such as swimming or playing a sport. And, on a moral level, doing what we know to be right, despite the risks, gives us the sense that we are acting on behalf of a larger purpose.
On a group level, bravery is inspiring and contagious. Witnessing an individual’s brave act – whether a soldier in battle or standing up for a bullied student – is a form of leadership and often encourages others to take action. Communities and societies throughout time have held bravery in high esteem because they know its inherent importance. This is why Aristotle believed, “Courage is the first of human virtues because it makes all others possible.”

How to Shop Teacher Wish Lists:
During their preview time on Monday morning, teachers will be creating wish lists. Our school community is so giving that these wish lists are popular with our families. Unfortunately, parents will not be able to shop in person this year. If you are interested in shopping off a teacher's wish list, you have two options.
- Ask your teacher to create an eWallet where you can donate funds so the teacher can purchase books for the classroom.
- Contact Book Fair chair Kristen Sherman at kmartaz73@gmail or Mrs. Wils at [email protected] to shop off a teacher's wish list.
If you have questions about the Book Fair, contact Book Fair chair, Kristen Sherman at [email protected].
