So hard to believe that we are almost at the end of October! This month has just flown by. We have a regular 5 day week. Friday, students will attend a special schoolwide performance in the gym as we celebrate our amazing accomplishment of raising $22000 during our Fun Run.
Remember to mark your calendars for our next PTA meeting. Because there is no school on Election Day, Nov 8 (the second Tuesday of the month), our PTA meeting will be on Nov 15 at 6:30 in the media center. Second grade will be sharing with us what's going on in their classrooms. We will also be voting on a couple of budget amendments, so we need you there!
Have a wonderful week! If you have any questions, please contact any board member.

Michael Beadle Visiting 4th Grade This Week
This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County. Additional support is provided by the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources.
School Performance on Friday at 2:00
To celebrate, our students will attend a performance of Giselle la Trent the Gazellephant.
"Giselle la Trent the Gazellephant" is a children's musical that follows a half-gazelle, half-elephant girl named Giselle on her first day at Thomas Girafferson Elementary School. Giselle wants to be a famous rockstar more than anything else in the world, which is why she gets upset when some of the other kids aren't her biggest fans. After a series of name calling and pranks, Giselle and the rest of the kids learn a valuable lesson in acceptance and being nice to one another. For more, visit www.aggregatetheatre.com.

News from Wake County Public Schools
Last week the Wake County Public School System launched a survey intended for community members at large to provide feedback on some possible changes to the daily starting and ending times for our schools. Specifically, the Board wants to understand how community members feel about the possibility of shifting high school start times (currently around 7:15am) to later in the morning in future years.
The survey is very short, and is available here:
In English: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BellScheduleCommunity
En Español: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BellSchedCommunitySpanish
We’d love to hear your perspective on this issue. Please feel free to share these links with other community members who may want to provide input. We are collecting similar information from WCPSS staff, students and parents as well and hope to report the results to the Board later this year.
Thank you for your consideration, and for your support for WCPSS.
