Positivity Project
This week in the Positivity Project, students will learn about the character strength: Prudence
WHAT IT MEANS
You plan for the future and achieve your goals by making careful everyday choices.
WHY IT MATTERS
Prudence supports effective individual self-management.
On a group level, prudence is crucial – especially today, as shortsightedness has crept into many parts of life. Prudent individuals will produce a prudent society. And, as always, we need leaders who can think long-term and create the world we want our descendants to inherit.
For family resources about Prudence, see the P2 website. The password is P2.

Recycling
This time of year generates a lot of waste. Here are some ways that you can keep that waste out of the landfill. If you have questions about any of these programs, contact our Recycling chair, Megan Holler, at [email protected].
Recycling Plastic Film and Plastic Bags
Did you know that you can recycle these items?
From the grocery store:
- produce bags
- store bags
- ice bags
- Ziploc and other reclosable bags
- cereal box liners
- case overwrap
- bread bags
- newspaper sleeves
- dry cleaning bags
- bubble wrap
- plastic ecommerce mailers
Collect these items and do one of the following:
- Contact Megan Holler to drop off these items.
- Weigh your plastic content and email that weight to Megan Holler. Then take your bags to your local grocery store for recycling.
Recycling Squeezeable Pouches and Foil-Lined Bags
Our Recycling Chair, Megan Holler at [email protected], continues to recycle squeezable snack pouches (a TerraCycle and GoGo squeeZ program) and foil lined snack wrappers (a TerraCycle and Subaru program).
Simply collect these items at home and contact Megan Holler to arrange a drop off or bring your recyclables to Macedonia United Methodist Church on Saturdays from 8-10am and give them to Marie Dexter.
- The squeezable pouches may be of ANY brand, not just GoGo squeeZ.
- Foil lined wrappers include smaller chip, pretzel, and cookie bags, as well as granola bars, chocolate bars, etc.
For families collecting at home, one tip is to store empty pouches in the refrigerator, until you can drop them off!
Thank YOU for helping us on our new recycling journey!
