The Positivity Project (P2): Love
This week in the Positivity Project, students will be learning about the character strength: Love
What Does Love Mean?
You value close relationships with others and being close to people.
Why Does It Matter?
Love is imperative to an individual’s happiness and fulfillment in life. Love allows us to be intimate with another person. It allows us to open up to another person and be vulnerable. That openness gives us the ability to learn and grow. Loving another person and sacrificing on his/her behalf produces positive emotions. And, it helps you access strengths – and feelings – you never knew you had.
On a group level, love is vital for the well being of society. The world is endlessly interconnected. We are all dependent upon each other for survival and happiness.
Love produces positive feelings, which help negate loneliness, anxiety, and depression.
Bus Driver Appreciation Week
This week is Love Your Bus Driver week! Please take a moment to thank your child's bus driver and let them know how much you appreciate them safely transporting your child every day!
Monday: Number Drummer Performance
Monday, we have an exciting Cultural Arts program for all our students. The Number Drummer will be at the Creek for a K-2 performance at 1:20 and a 3-5 performance around 2:30.
This is a very interactive performance! Students will receive drumsticks to participate! It should be a fun event. Check the school Twitter feed and the PTA Facebook page for pictures!
For more information about this performer, see Number Drummer. These cultural arts performances are possible because of a grant from United Arts and YOUR Fun Run donations. If you have questions or feedback about our Cultural Arts programs, please contact April Bartley at [email protected].

Watch DOGS: Half-Day Opportunities Now AvailableThe school year is flying along and to help get more gentlemen involved in the program we are introducing half-day sign-up opportunities. Your day will either start at the beginning of school and end after your student’s lunch, or begin with your student’s lunch and end after school.
There is still time to make an impact at Swift Creek and volunteer to be a Watch D.O.G. Get your picture added to our Hall of Fame! It is a great way to contribute to your SCES community. It's also an opportunity to make a memory with your student during recess, lunch, or while working on fractions!
Please feel free to email Sam Allen with any questions or to sign-up for a day (or half-day either beginning or ending with your Cougar’s lunch) at [email protected] or [email protected]
If you’d like to go directly to the sign-up website please visit: https://tinyurl.com/scesDOGS1920 and I will add you to the school’s calendar so they are ready with your schedule and picture with your Cougar(s). Thank you so much to those who have already volunteered. The school looks forward to new faces!
