Here is your news for this week!
The Positivity Project (P2): Perseverance
This week in the Positivity Project, students will be learning about the character strength Perseverance.
What does Perseverance Mean?
You complete what you start despite obstacles. You never give up.
Why does it matter?
For individuals, persistence can be directly connected to an individual’s ability to be successful throughout their life. Those who persevere through setbacks often reap the
benefits of the success gained by refusing to give up.
On a group level, perseverance can be contagious. A single group member’s ability or willingness to persevere can have a substantial impact on those working with him/her and the team. Groups that show high levels of perseverance are able to achieve goals they may not have believed possible.
Monday: No School. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday
There is no school on Monday as we celebrate the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. School resumes its normal schedule on Tuesday.
Friday: Coffee and Conversation with Mr. Propst at 9:30am
Come bring your questions, feedback, and ideas. Our past conversations have been great and led to school events such as International Night. We’d love your input! Hope to see you there!
5th grade parents: Dillard Drive Middle School will also be holding tours on Friday. The times are 10:10:30 or 1:45-2:15.
Watch DOGS: Half-Day Opportunities Now AvailableThe school year is flying along and to help get more gentlemen involved in the program we are introducing half-day sign-up opportunities. Your day will either start at the beginning of school and end after your student’s lunch, or begin with your student’s lunch and end after school.
There is still time to make an impact at Swift Creek and volunteer to be a Watch D.O.G. Get your picture added to our Hall of Fame! It is a great way to contribute to your SCES community. It's also an opportunity to make a memory with your student during recess, lunch, or while working on fractions!
Please feel free to email Sam Allen with any questions or to sign-up for a day (or half-day either beginning or ending with your Cougar’s lunch) at [email protected] or [email protected]
If you’d like to go directly to the sign-up website please visit: https://tinyurl.com/scesDOGS1920 and I will add you to the school’s calendar so they are ready with your schedule and picture with your Cougar(s). Thank you so much to those who have already volunteered. The school looks forward to new faces!
