Earth DAy Theme and Activity
* Send a note to someone on the front lines
* Thank others.
One idea is to create a card for the workers at Wake Med.
We want to show our gratitude and appreciation for the workers on the front line at our local hospital at Wake Med. We invite you to participate in letter writing and/or artwork that we can deliver to the staff at Wake Med. This will help the students practice writing and explore their creative side as well as lift up our community.
Wake Med asked that there not be any demographic, personal emails, or addresses on the letters and limit the art work to an 8.5 X 11 sheet. It is also asked that no religious affiliation is mentioned. You can drop off your art work and letters at the school.
When you have finished, drop your letter or artwork off in the orange drop box in the front of the school.
If you have any questions about this project, contact Georgianne at [email protected]. Thank you, Georgianne, for organizing this!
Did You Know?
One large tree can provide a day’s supply of oxygen for up to four people. Research from 2015 suggests that 15 billion trees are cut down every year. In the United States, around 1.6 billion new trees are planted each year.
Activity: Take a look at the trees around your home. Do you know what types they are?
Are they homes to other animals or insects?
Remember to Thank Mrs. Wellborn, Ms. Lennon, and Mrs. Silva
It is time to celebrate our front office staff!!! They work so very hard to keep our school running smoothly. They really see everything -- answering phones, fixing boo boos, dealing with transportation issues, registering our students, giving out smiles and hugs!
You can thank each of these folks by signing their virtual Thank you card!
