The Positivity Project: Curiosity
This week in the Positivity Project, students will learn about the character strength of Curiosity.
What It Means
You like exploration and discovery. You ask lots of questions because you want to learn more about anything and everything.
Why It Matters
Individuals with the character strength of curiosity are more likely to ask questions and try new things. Curiosity then is
a form of courage. Asking questions exposes the fact that we don’t know and trying a new activity means we might fail.
On a group level, curiosity is crucial in making discoveries that bring important benefits. For example, exotic plants may yield new medicines and ancient artifacts may illuminate astonishing pieces of human history.

Weekly wellness
DID YOU KNOW: “Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise” was an old English proverb often used by Benjamin Franklin?
Now that we are into the swing of the new school year, it’s important to have daily and nightly routines for children along with a good night sleep! Routines help develop skills and build healthy habits. More importantly, routines give children a sense of security and control over their environment and ultimately keep things organized and help family life run more smoothly. Following a routine and going to bed and waking up around the same time every day is key. “Our bodies are biological clocks with the succession of a circadian rhythm. Circadian rhythms are the cycles in the body that fluctuate over a 24-hour period” and ultimately supports our mental and emotional health!
For a new and fun way to get your children to settle down after a long day, play children’s mediation and try to continue that routine each night.
